Wequity, a Brussels-based legal tech startup founded in 2021, specializes in ESG compliance and legal documentation automation. The company has secured €2.6 million in funding and operates two platforms: an ESP compliance solution for ESG data collection and reporting, plus a Node.js-based legal forms platform.

Company Background

Led by Co-Founder Franck-Victor Laurant, Wequity has completed over 100 projects since February 2024 launch. The company is strategically positioned near the European Commission to monitor regulatory changes.

Why cto.new

Wequity selected cto.new primarily for its seamless Linear integration. Laurant noted: "I can directly use it in Linear...much easier than using GitHub" and praised the ability to assign tasks via @cto mentions without learning new tools.

Results Achieved

  • 40-50% of tasks pass QA on first attempt
  • Additional 25% require minor iterations
  • 25% need reassignment to human developers
  • Saves approximately $1,000 monthly in AI coding agent fees
  • Eliminates ~$5,000 in freelancing costs

Workflow

Tasks are assigned directly in Linear, with cto.new operating asynchronously and returning pull requests. QA testers review work and move incomplete cards back to "in progress" for iteration.

Future Plans

Expanding beyond frontend tasks to test backend functions using Supabase and MCPs (Model Context Protocol).
